WATERSHIP STEWARDS PROGRAM
The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering its Watershed Stewards Program online beginning April 2. Participants will learn what threatens Maine lakes and how to protect lakes. The program is designed for lakefront landowners, town officials, code enforcement officers, planners and landscapers, and is appropriate for high school students and adults. Participants are expected to complete 10 hours of volunteer service within one year of the program.

Registration is $25 and includes access to program information presented over seven weeks, in addition to supporting resources and online chat sessions with UMaine Extension instructor Laura Wilson. A high-speed broadband Internet connection is necessary, as the course contains streaming web video.

Participants will receive the course website address via e-mail upon registration. A password will be required to enter the site to access the course videos. I
